Common questions

What is this site?

This site is intended to be an archive of the social web's elite users. Anyone with a Facebook and Amazon account can add their picture to the homepage for $1 or more to become part of internet history.

How are faces ordered?

By default faces are ordered on the homepage by the total amount paid for the space (highest to lowest) then by the time at which the person began the process to purchase a space (newest to oldest). Alternate sort orders may be chosen in the "sort by" dropdown on the navigation bar.

How long will the site be up?

We guarantee that the site will be online for 5 years (until 2018), but we hope to keep the site online for much longer than that. The site may go down briefly from time-to-time for maintenance or in the event of high traffic volumes. In such events we'll work to get the site back online as quickly as possible.

Why do I need Facebook?

We wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to add your face to the site. Integrating with Facebook allows us to automatically grab your profile picture and basic profile information without asking you to fill out a form.

Where does the money go?

The money you pay to put your face on this site will be first used to pay basic operating expenses. Remaining funds will be dispersed among the founders who plan to use the money to pay off debt and fund additional ideas.

What's your privacy policy?

We will never send you spam or share your email address with third parties. By going through the purchasing process you grant us permission to publicize your profile picture and basic profile information (i.e. name, current city and gender).

Can I pay more later?

Yes, you may add to the value of your space by making additional payments. You can see how much your space is currently worth by visiting the order completion page. You must be logged in with Facebook to complete either of these actions.

Can I update my picture?

We grab your current Facebook profile picture when you begin the process to purchase a space. We plan to release a feature to allow people to update their picture at a later date.

How can I contact you?

Feel free to reach out to Nick Schwab with any inquiries via email, Twitter, or Facebook. If your inquiry is specific to your purchase then please include a link to your Facebook profile to help expedite the support process.

Nice design!

Thanks! We used Twitter Bootstrap to keep things simple and do more faster.

Refunds?

Sorry, all transactions are final. If you would like your face removed from the site please email us.

What's the "top space"?

The top space (to the right the "+" icon if you haven't already purchased a space) on the homepage is held by the person who has paid the most for their space.
